Winters Creek Lodge at Mt. Rose is a high elevation wedding venue at the base of the local ski resort just outside of Reno. This venue is a great choice for couples looking for a cool outdoor space close to Reno. When I went to do Cyndie and Ray’s engagement photos at Lake Tahoe a while back, I was surprised to see them accompanied by another Reno couple whose wedding I shot back in 2015, Jake and Jasmine. I had forgotton that Ray was in Jake’s wedding party, and a lot of the same people were at both weddings. Ray is a Reno native and lots of his family and friends just had a short drive up the hill. Cyndie is of French decent and her family came from all over, with a big portion of those speaking French. Ray even learned how to do is toast in French, and seemed to have pretty good pronunciation judging by the reactions. Because it is high up on the mountain, Winters Creek Lodge often gets some amazing sunsets that form right overhead and we have been fortunate enough to catch a good one every time we shoot there.
