Twenty Mile House wedding photography for Mandi and John

Mandi and John had one of the biggest parties of the year at their Twenty Mile House wedding. It was a non-stop party for them and their twenty three bridesmaids and groomsmen with shots, pre ceremony and post ceremony toasts, and a pink flamingo beer bong! One of the bridesmaids even brought a bottle of homemade blue Skittles infused vodka. Needless to say, they were a super fun couple that wanted to be in the moment of their wedding day, and we were there to capture it all. A few of our favorite parts of the day included Mandi, not once, but twice, doing The Worm on the dance floor! And the emotional “first look” between Mandi and her dad brought tears to my eyes too. Another favorite aspect of the day was hearing the story behind the knife they used to cut their wedding cake: It was a family heirloom dating back to the 1800’s that every woman on Mandi’s mother’s side of the family has used to cut their wedding cake. All of the women’s names and wedding dates are engraved in the knife. You can see in the detail photo of the knife the date that started it off was Anne Eliza’s wedding on October 2, 1856.

The Twenty Mile House will be having their annual spring wedding fair on April 28. If you are looking for a unique, historic venue that is off the beaten track in the Lost Sierra area, we can not recommend this location enough! Head on over to their website for details about the fair. We will be there with two new Twenty Mile House wedding sample albums to share, so stop by and say hello!
