Truckee wedding photography for Kate and Jon
Kate and Jon were married in August at a “secret” spot, a rustic park up on the mountain above Truckee, CA. Their reception was held at The Lodge at Tahoe Donner, where guests enjoyed a cocktail hour outdoors on the Grotto patio, followed by a sit down dinner reception and dancing in the elegant tented space overlooking the golf course and tall forest trees. Kate’s purple and green floral arrangements and bouquets were created by Katina Isaacson, owner of Sierra Floral Designs, and the entire day was seamlessly coordinated by Felicia Gantar, owner of Felicia Events. I thought I’d give this blog post a twist by including some photos that you may get ideas from, things you may want to incorporate into your own wedding with a Tahoe mountain flair. Enjoy.
Kate’s “something old” was a vintage ring that a friend had given her, she pinned it to the inside of her dress.
Many Tahoe weddings offer guests flip flops to wear on the uneven ground or sand. Flowers can be used to line the ceremony aisle, and then brought to the reception site to use as cocktail table centerpieces.
The ceremony was held at a local Truckee park high up in the mountains above the town. The ring bearer carried a box decorated with their purple and green wedding colors to match the bouquets.

Kate’s five nieces were the flower girls, with matching rustic pails.
Table settings included the menu details, and sappling trees as favors.
