Tahoe wedding photography at the Resort at Squaw Creek

By Monique

Scott and I worked together doing Allison and Oliver’s Tahoe wedding photography on May 23 at the Resort at Squaw Creek. We had a great time with them and they were natural and light hearted through out the day. Their ceremony was unique and beautiful, combining Allison’s Chinese and Oliver’s Filipino cultural ceremonial traditions. The reception was in the Grand Ballroom, and they had a crowd that really enjoyed dancing.

Allison and Oliver decided to see each other before the ceremony for their bridal portraits. Capturing this first meeting is an important part of the story telling of the day as it unfolds.

Squaw Valley has some great areas for outdoor bridal portraits, including the long stretches of this old wooden fence

They had a big wedding party. When photographing a group like this, I like to position them at different levels to get more depth inthe image. This was done towards the end of the wedding party shots, after the more formal shots when everyome looks into the lens. I love capturing these more spontaneous, lively moments during the portrait session.

The kids were having a great time with Brett's lighting equipment. This available light shot has a nice mood to it.
