Lake Tahoe wedding photography for Sylvia and Jason

Jason and Sylvia were married on the North Shore of Lake Tahoe in Incline Village.

By Monique

Scott and I had a great time photographing Jason and Sylvia’s North Lake Tahoe wedding this summer. We first met them last spring at Sand Harbor for their engagement session. For the wedding day, Scott met up with Jason and his guys at one house, and I photographed the ladies getting ready at another house. The ceremony was in a secret spot along the North Shore of Lake Tahoe, a rare empty lake front lot that they were given permission to use by a family friend. The reception was held at the Chateau in Incline Village. The flowers were designed by Katina Isaacson, owner of Sierra Floral Designs. The purple and green themed bouquets and bird bath centerpieces included fresh herbs. Jason and Sylvia chose one of our packages that includes both Scott and myself, so each of us was able to use our distinctive styles documenting the entire day, from the beginning of the getting ready for both the ladies and the men, all the way through their departure at the end of the night. And Scott got some amazing images with the  Crazy Corner photobooth he set up during the reception!

ceremony details

This was one of the most creative parts of a ceremony we have ever seen. Jason and Sylvia asked all of the guests to bring a bag of dirt from their homes. The guests added the bags to the redwood box holding the tree as they arrived. Each of their mother’s added their dirt during the ceremony, and then Jason and Sylvia watered it together. This was a unique and personal alternative to a candle lighting or sand pouring tradition.

This is a great example of how Scott and I can capture the same moment from 2 different angles, using 2 different lighting techniques as well.
