Katie and Patrick had their wedding at the Chateau in Incline Village. There were a ton of emotional moments to capture. From the bride and her dad’s “first look” through the ceremony and dances at the reception, this wedding had that crazy crying/laughing high that, to be honest, many people keep in check at weddings. Not this couple and their family, they were all about experiencing the emotions of the day. And one of the unique aspects of this wedding was that the groom was actually hugely expressive. At first, I was a little leery of his over the top expressions, fearing that he was way too “camera aware!” But as the day unfolded, I just realized that this was part of his character, so I went with it. Normally, I would probably just fall back and try to be a bit sneaky about capturing him in a more natural state of being. But Patrick was a funny, light hearted, expressive person, and I think I pretty much nailed it on covering his personality! Another really fun part of this day was during the dinner hour. The couple had each table “sing for their supper.” Each table was given a song, and they had to sing it, karaoke style, before they could go through the buffet line. The couple and I took a quick trip down to the lake for the sunset, and when we returned to the party, they were ready to dance, dance dance!
