Here are some more Lake Tahoe wedding images from a June wedding at Gar Woods. (I know, I am a little behind with my posts, but again, we have been enjoying the many summer activities that the Sierras and the Great Basin have to offer this time of year, including our week in the White Mountains photographing UC research and the ancient Bristlecone pines.) Our fellow journalism colleagues who currently work at the Reno Gazette Journal, Lauren and Zach, were married on June 12 under stormy skies, but the rain stayed away and their ceremony was held outdoors at the park adjacent to the restaurant.
Gar Woods is a great location for wedding photography at Lake Tahoe. Among its offerings is a lake front pebble beach, a pier, and who can resist their famous “Wet Woody” drink!
Stormy skies didn’t stop Lauren and Zach from having their ceremony outdoors at the park adjacent to Gar Woods. The clouds add a touch of moodiness to this shot.
Getting low to the ground for this bridal party photograph adds depth by framing the group with the beautiful lupine wildflowers. I always try to give the group shots a little extra pizazz to keep them from looking like people are just standing in a big, long straight line.
This “lens baby” portrait adds a unique element to the image with the wild lupine blurring from the foreground.
Getting in tight for this shot really draws your focus right to Lauren’s stunning eyes.
I love to capture the spontaneity of couples who like to move around during the portrait session, embracing, acting as if nobody else is there but them, enjoying their special moments on their wedding day.

I am a sucker for cute kids at a wedding, especially when they are all dressed up!

Lauren and Zach used a computer to play their favorite dance tunes, and the crowd kept the dance floor packed for most of the night.
